Before You Begin
Always start by powering off your laptop or disconnecting your external keyboard from the computer. This ensures safety and prevents accidental input during removal.
How to Remove Keyboard Stickers
- Make sure your keyboard is powered off or disconnected.
- Using your fingernail or the edge of a credit card, gently lift one corner of the sticker.
- Slowly peel the sticker off while holding the key down with your other hand. This helps prevent the keycap from being accidentally removed.
- Do not use sharp tools such as knives or blades. These can easily scratch or permanently damage the keyboard surface.
- Repeat the process for the remaining keys, taking your time with each one.
Why Residue May Sometimes Remain
In rare cases, small amounts of adhesive may be left behind. This usually happens if:
- The keyboard was not properly cleaned before applying the stickers
- The stickers were removed too quickly

How to Remove Sticker Glue from Your Keyboard
Method 1: Dry Removal
- Gently wipe or rub the adhesive residue using a paper towel (preferred) or your fingers.
- Rub in one direction only until the glue begins to roll off the key surface.
- Be careful not to push the adhesive into the spaces between keys, as it can be difficult to remove from tight areas.
Method 2: Alcohol Cleaning (For Stubborn Residue)
If there is a larger amount of residue (often caused by lower-quality stickers):
- Use an alcohol wipe or alcohol-based tissue.
- Gently clean the affected keys until all adhesive is removed.
- Allow the keyboard to dry completely before use.
